Q: What is the main advantage of a casement/awning window over a sliding window?
A: The biggest advantage is 100% ventilation and superior airtightness. A sliding window only allows half of the window space to be open at any time, and relies on brush seals. A casement window swings entirely out of the way to catch full breezes, and uses a "compression seal" (pressing tightly against thick rubber gaskets) when locked, making it vastly superior at blocking cold drafts, water leaks, and street noise.
Q: Are the hinges durable? I am worried about the window sagging over time.
A: Window sagging is a valid concern with cheap hardware, but not with ours. We exclusively use heavy-duty, austenitic stainless steel friction stays and reinforced corner joints. Our hardware is engineered to support sash weights of up to 100kg (or more for commercial aluminum), ensuring the window opens smoothly and stays perfectly aligned for decades without dropping a single millimeter.
Q: How do I clean the outside of a casement window if I live on a high floor?
A: We offer several solutions for this. Our Tilt-and-Turn windows swing inward, allowing you to easily wash both sides from inside your room. For outward-opening casements, we use special 90-degree egress/washability hinges that create a gap between the sash and the frame when fully open, allowing you to reach your arm through and clean the exterior glass safely.
Q: Does your thermal break aluminum actually insulate as well as UPVC?
A: Yes. While standard aluminum conducts heat, our "Thermal Break" aluminum features a wide PA66 polyamide strip extruded right down the middle of the frame. This breaks the metal-to-metal contact, preventing heat or freezing cold from transferring indoors. When paired with high-quality Low-E double glazing, our aluminum windows achieve exceptional energy ratings comparable to premium UPVC.
Q: Can you do custom grids (muntins) and obscure glass for bathrooms?
A: Absolutely. We offer frosted, tinted, or patterned obscure glass for total bathroom privacy while letting light in. We also offer highly customizable grid patterns (Colonial, Prairie, Craftsman) either sealed between the glass panes for easy cleaning (GBG) or applied to the surface (SDL) for a traditional textured look.
